Joseph warns against being like Thomas, who doubted God's promises, and reminds us that blessed are those who believe without seeing. He references Romans 8:5-9, which states that being carnally minded leads to death, while being spiritually minded brings life and peace. Therefore, anyone who does not possess the Spirit of God is not truly of God.
